On Friday, December 9th. The Renegade Knights rolled into the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford with some special packages. Chaz & AJ of PLR held their annual toy drive to help underprivleged kids. The Club was very pleased to donate $2100 in toys and donations collected at the clubhouse this year. The event was a blast as usual and fun as had by all. The event raised $94,000 in toys and donations this year!

On October 3rd, The Renegade Knights made a donation to the American Heart Association of $100 in Honor of Thomas Mingrone. Tom was a Retired Bridgeport FF who lost his battle to heart disease. He is also the father of RKFFMC member Chuck Mingrone.

On September 11th, 2011, the ALS Association of CT held a walk to fight ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease ). The three mile walk was held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. 30 of my brothers and wives/girlfriends showed up at this event to make a donation in honor of my mother Lynn Torgerson, who was diagnosed with this horrible disease last year. The Club made a $100 donation to Team G for the walk and a friend of the Club Tom Owen made a $100 donation out of his pocket that morning. RKFFMC PIG ROAST & BIKE RODEO

On August 7th 2011, The Renegade Knights hosted it's first annual Pig Roast & Bike Rodeo at Fireman's Field in Guilford CT. The event is held to raise money for the Connecticut Burn Camp, a camp that is for children who have been burned in fires, and it gives them a chance to be a kid again. The weather this year did not cooperate with us at all, but all who showed up had a great time and plenty of food. The club was able to present a check to the camp on August 31st at Doody's for $5,500. Hopefully next year we can have better weather and give a bigger donation. CHESTER COUPLE LOOSES IT ALL
Jill and Chris Stemple lost their entire home on April 16, 2011 to a fast moving fire that also consumed everything in it also. The couple is trying to rebuild their lives with the help of friends, neighbors and strangers. The Renegade Knights were able to help out a little with a $250 donation to the family. There is also going to be a Poker Run on June 12th at Junes Outback in Killingworth on Rt 81. Start time is at noon and for more info call (860) 664-0277. LITTLE LEAGUE STRUCK OUT BY FIRE
The Wallingford Girls Softball Little League's storage shed was lost to a fire in the late winter. All of the kids uniforms and equipment were destroyed and needed replacement. The Renegade Knights were very proud to donate $100 to the organization and start the season. Good Luck girls and have a great season!!

On Thursday April 17th, a few Renegade Knight took a field trip to Washington Elementary School in West Haven to say Thanks. Every few months the Club and our wives put together care packages and card for the troops and send them overseas. The students at the school made over 1500 cards for us to ship. A Plaque was made to honor these students who made these cards. Capt Shawn Pyer (also RKFFMC) from the Army Nation Guard brought along dog tags to hand out to all the children who were very excited for the gifts. The children also suprised us with more cards to send and ironically we were putting together more packages that very night at our first bike night of the year. Thank You again Kids. In the early morning of January 3rd, East Haven Fire was busy fighting two fires in town. A Warner Rd. man spread accelerant throughout his home and set it ablaze and shot his dog in the process. The aftermath of this heinous act left Ann-Marie Carangelo and her two daughters Leaya and Alyssa with all of their belongings lost to fire, smoke and water damage. To help this family start rebuiling, the Renegade Knights gave the family a $500 donation at a fundraiser that was held at the Annex YMA Club.

Two East Haven Volunteers in need of help this past month were given $50 donations from the Renegade Knights FFMC. Joe Lauria is battling Pacreatic Cancer, and Chris Perdo has an unborn daughter that is going to need a heart operation at birth. The Club attended fundraisers for both and presented the donations at the events.

FATHER KILLED TRYING TO SAVE FAMILY

John Oberempt, a 50 year old father of three lost his life on February 17th while searching and trying to extinguish a fire in his home on Grandview Ave in Hamden. The fire started in a downstairs living room and quickly spread through the home. Mr. Oberempt's Wife, 7 year old daughter and sons aged 18 and 3 along with the family dog made it out safely after he alerted the household of the blaze. Mr. Oberempt was unaware everyone had made it out of the house and died in the attempt to save his wife, children and pet. Brendan Blakeslee (RKFFMC) is a family friend of this family and he presented a check for $500 to the family on March 3rd from the Renegade Knights so they may try to put their lives back together.

RENEGADE KNIGHTS ASSIST EAST HAVEN FIRE VICTIMS
|
The Renegade Knights Fire Fighter Motorcycle Clubs member base consists of firefighters who enjoy riding motorcycles and share the pride of giving back to the community in which they not only serve but also help those affected by fire. Founder Rick Chadderton, this summer, along with 30 other members (pictured) who wanted to give back to the community, presented their first official donation of $500 to victims of a recent fire in East Haven (July 2010). Donations are given on a case by case basis upon members approval.

RENEGADE KNIGHTS SPILL THE BLOOD

On October 9th 2010, The Renegade Knights Firefighter MC held a blood drive in honor of Alicia Chadderton. The event was held at the West Haven Fire Dept. Center District Fire House on Elm St. There were over 60 donors in attendance and many volunteers for this life saving cause. 42 viable units of blood were delivered to the Red Cross to be distributed to our local area hospitals. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts to all of you that attended this life saving event. We look forward to seeing new donors in the future at our twice a year blood drives. BRIDGEPORT BROTHERS MAKE SUPREME SACRIFICE

On July 24th 2010, Lt. Steven Valasquez and FF Michel Baik lost their lives fighting a house fire in Bridgeport CT, leaving behind their kids, wives, family and brother firefighters. The Renegade Knights have sent a donation of $400 to the Bridgeport Firefighter Local 834 that has set up a relief fund for these brave brothers families.

RENEGADE KNIGHTS DELIVER THE TURKEYS

On Friday November 12th, members of the Renegade Knights Firefighter MC and family members, delivered 33 Turkeys to the PLR Food Drive at Shaws in North Haven. PLR holds this event annually to benefit the CT Food Bank that donates meals to families for the holidays. The CT Food Bank also runs year round and is always accepting canned food donations.

On Sunday November 28th 2010, a funraiser was held for a RKFFMC friend, Tommy Wilonski at the Hamden Elks Lodge. Tommy was involved in a serious MCA in the late summer and sustained serious injuries. The proceeds went to Tommys mounting medical bills and rehabilitation that he is undergoing. Tommy is a Army Ranger Veteran and continues to fight and progress everyday. Tommys brother is a East Haven Local 1205 Firefighter. The Renegade Knights donated a Charbroil Stainless Steel Grill that was used for the raffle and several members attended the function. On Wednesday December 1st, The New Haven Police Dept. held a Signal 4 for one of their own. Lt. Holly Wasilewski was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and the Dept. held a fundraiser at Vandome on Hamilton St. in New Haven. The turnout was nothing short of spectacular, and The Renegade Knights presented a $250 donation from the club as well as the many members that attended. Get well Lt. and we will see you back on the streets soon.

On Friday December 10th 2010, members of The Renegade Knights headed down to the PLR Toy Drive at Sports Haven in New Haven. The toy drive benefits numerous organizations in the Greater New Haven area for less fortunate children. A $150 donation in addition to numerous toys collected at RKFFMC Clubhouse were donated by the club. Thank You to everyone who dropped off toys in our box, lets make next year even better.
